Colleen brings more than three decades of strategic communications, crisis management, and media relations to Wixted & Company. She has led communication and brand initiatives in the areas of finance, insurance, healthcare, aerospace, manufacturing, and education.

As Strategic Communication Director, Colleen provides her expertise in issues management, brand development, executive counsel, and business communication. A trusted and collaborative partner, she brings value and a calm approach to all client interactions. Many clients over the years have sought Colleen’s communications expertise and strong writing skills to support their strategic business initiatives. 

Colleen is a national award winner for developing and executing a natural disaster crisis plan and was also named the 2022 Iowa Communicator of the Year by the Iowa School Public Relations Association. 

She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and is the mother of three grown children.
