Our Story

Over three decades ago, Eileen Wixted saw a need in the business community. As a former journalist and news anchor, Eileen knew firsthand how impactful a thoughtful, proactive approach to media engagement could be for building and maintaining a strong reputation. She also knew that organizations were often unprepared or unwilling to share their story with the media. Armed with industry knowledge and determination, she set out to establish a firm that trained, coached and educated individuals and businesses to be better communicators, preparing them for a variety of opportunities to establish, grow and/or protect their brands.

Since those days, the media landscape (and the world) has changed significantly, and so have the rules of engagement. Today’s leaders and spokespeople must be able to clearly articulate their company’s position on a variety of topics, regardless of market, geographic footprint or size. They must also be prepared to share their positions at any time, and on any platform, with the increasing influence of “citizen journalists.” As the nature of media has evolved, so too has Wixted & Company.

Today, the Wixted & Company team is comprised of seasoned journalists and writers, award-winning media and broadcast professionals, organizational leaders and storytellers across all mediums. While Wixted & Company is still renowned for its training programs and media relations expertise, the firm has grown significantly since its founding to offer a full suite of strategic communication services.
