Katie knows today’s ever-changing media landscape from the inside out. She spent more than a decade working in television news as a reporter and anchor before joining the Wixted team in 2014. Katie draws on her experience to provide clients with unparalleled training sessions to prepare for high-stakes media interviews.

Katie began her professional career during college at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri, working as a reporter and weekend anchor. Upon graduation, she landed her first full-time job in a top 50 TV market in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at WGAL-TV. She honed her breaking news skills on the job and in 2006 transferred to WGAL’s sister station, KCCI-TV in Des Moines, where she worked as a reporter and morning news anchor. Katie’s reporting work earned her numerous awards including recognition as a top journalist at the Hearst National Broadcast Championship and an Emmy nomination for her work as a breaking news reporter at KCCI.

In addition to training, Katie is a media relations advisor helping clients land key media placements. Clients benefit from her extensive knowledge of how to pitch stories as well as her many relationships with members of the media across the country.

Katie earned her bachelor of arts degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
